Supreme Fencing Denver LLC builds and repairs residential and commercial fences in Wheat Ridge — privacy fences, front-yard picket and rail, chain link, ornamental iron and gates. Wheat Ridge sits just west of Denver along I-70, about a 15-minute drive from central Denver, so it is inside our regular service area rather than a trip we make once in a while.

Wheat Ridge has its own fence rules, and a front-yard fence that would pass in Denver can fail here. We plan every Wheat Ridge fence around the city’s height, openness and corner-visibility limits, pull the permit, and give you a written estimate before anything is scheduled.

What Wheat Ridge properties need from a fence

Front yards that have to stay open

The 50%-open rule is the one that catches people out. A solid 4 ft privacy panel across a Wheat Ridge front yard does not meet it; a spaced picket, a two- or three-rail fence or an ornamental metal fence does. If you want privacy at the front of the house, the usual answer is a 6 ft fence that starts at or behind the front building line, with an open fence or none in front of it.

Corner lots and driveways

On a corner lot, or where a fence meets a driveway or alley, anything inside the visibility triangle has to stay at 3 ft or under so drivers can see. We lay the triangle out on site before setting posts, and step the fence down where it has to rather than building it tall and having to cut it later.

Older lots, mature trees and larger parcels

Many Wheat Ridge homes sit on older, wider lots with established trees along the property lines. We route post holes around major roots and, where a fence line runs through a tree, set it to one side instead of cutting in. Some larger parcels in the city are still zoned for agricultural use; that is where split rail, ranch rail and livestock-grade wire fencing come up.

Wind and freeze–thaw

Posts are set in concrete below the frost line, and privacy fences get heavier posts and rails on open exposures, because Front Range wind and repeated freeze–thaw cycles are what loosen a fence in its first few winters.

Fence services in Wheat Ridge

Most Wheat Ridge work is cedar or wood privacy fencing in back yards, open picket or rail fencing in front yards, and repairs to older fences — replacing rotted posts and leaning sections is often far cheaper than a full replacement.

What a fence costs in Wheat Ridge

Most residential fences run roughly $15 to $70+ per linear foot, and most residential projects land between $2,000 and $10,000+. Where a Wheat Ridge job falls in that range comes down to the material, the length of the run, how many gates you need, whether an old fence has to come out first, and how much of the line is affected by trees, slope or the front-yard and corner rules. Every estimate is free, done on site, and written down before anything is scheduled.

How a Wheat Ridge fence job runs

  1. Site visit. We walk the property lines, mark the front building line and any visibility triangles, and look at trees, slope and the existing fence.
  2. Written estimate. Material, height and layout are chosen to fit the Wheat Ridge limits, and the price is written down.
  3. Permit. We submit the permit to the City of Wheat Ridge and schedule the build once it is issued.
  4. Build. Posts are set in concrete, then rails, panels and gates go on and are checked for line, level and gate swing.
  5. Clean-up and walk-through. Old fencing and debris are hauled away and we walk the finished fence with you.

Wheat Ridge fence questions

Do I need a permit to build or replace a fence in Wheat Ridge?

Yes. Wheat Ridge requires a permit for new fences and for replacing or repairing an existing one. We handle the permit as part of the job and confirm the current requirements with the city first.

How tall can a fence be in Wheat Ridge?

Up to 6 ft in side and rear yards. In the front yard the limit is 4 ft and the fence must be at least 50% open. Inside a visibility triangle at a corner, driveway or alley, it drops to 3 ft.

Can I put a privacy fence in my front yard in Wheat Ridge?

Not a solid one. Front-yard fences have to be at least half open, so privacy fencing normally starts at or behind the front of the house. We can show you layouts that keep the back yard private and the front compliant.

Do you repair fences in Wheat Ridge or only install new ones?

Both. We replace rotted or broken posts, re-hang sagging gates and rebuild damaged sections. A repair to an existing fence still needs a Wheat Ridge permit, which we take care of.

How long does a fence installation take?

Most residential fences are built in one to three days once the permit is issued. Long runs, heavy slope or custom gates can add time; the schedule is in the written estimate.
